A Bridal Shower

Is this unusual or is it becoming common place in this time when the world is much smaller and more approachable? So, a cyberspace shower it is!

Stephen and Elizabeth will be married in Oakland, California and then return to Hawaii where they will continue their education.

Those of us who are not traveling to Hawaii or California will not have the opportunity to celebrate the betrothed couple, unless we do it through unconventional methods.

It is traditional to give sound advice and favorite recipes to the young couple. Please add yours to the appropriate comment section.

I also thought it would be fun to add your own unique love story. It's very inspiring for newlyweds to know the stories of other people and how they met and fell in love.

It is also traditional to "shower" the couple with gifts. I haven't figured out how to do that through the computer, so we will rely on the very traditional post office.

The Couple

Written by Denise, proud mother of the groom!

Stephen and Elizabeth met in Hawaii his first semester in 2005, before his mission. They enjoyed summer term together and had many adventures. She left BYUH to continue her studies in Provo where her two older sisters were.

When Stephen came home for Christmas, his description of Elizabeth was, "she's changed my life!" Honestly, I have wondered since that day if she would someday be his bride.

Elizabeth was very supportive throughout Stephen's mission. Letters and packages arrived with regularity. He glowed every time he got something from her. Toward the end of his mission, he spent a lot of time at the temple. Upon his release in March, he called her and quickly determined the feelings were mutual.

While still on his mission, they planned to return to BYUH for Spring term. As it turned out, she didn't get there until Summer term. They've enjoyed the last few months courting, getting to know each other and planning for their lives together.

A little background on Elizabeth...She is the 3rd of 6 children, 4 girls then 2 boys. She's from
LaGrange, California, about three hours east of San Fransisco. She loves to travel and is majoring in international business management.

She loves to cook, sew, travel, read, adores children and spending time with her family. We fell in love with her and her sisters the first time we met. We've enjoyed her family immensely. To be joining our families is a wonderful occasion.
